The Golf Drill Challenge App aims to provide a cross-platform mobile application focused on helping the Oregon State University men’s golf team by simplifying the process of recording player scores and creating leaderboards based on each player’s score for drills they are assigned. The application will also aid the feedback process for coaches by enabling them to analyze each player’s techniques and skills efficiently.
The application will contain educational videos and instructions to improve technique and provide features such as live scoring and a leaderboard. Currently, the coaches have tophysically create drills, explain and demonstrate them to their players, and players must manually keep track of scores and results of each shot for each drill, which is time-consuming and reduces practice efficiency. The application will eliminate these repetitive tasks and help coaches and players focus on practicing and receiving feedback.
This project’s initial goal is targeted towards OSU golf team so at first the focus is to improve the quality of the team’s practice. Users would have the ability to create teams and compete against one another. Creating a more competitive environment that is leaderboard-based would drive the engagement of the application as teams compete against one another. Other schools might also have the interest to take advantage of the services our application could provide.
