Project Description:
The Lakedale Utility District desires a treatment system for the Crestop Well to remove iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide while limiting disinfection byproduct formation. These constituents pose aesthetic problems to water quality. Primary criteria for treatment include water quality, dependability, community acceptance, and facility footprint. In order to accomplish this goal, a greensand filtration system was selected through an alternatives analysis and a preliminary design was conducted.
