Project Description:

Our client HP Corvallis looks for a decision support system for the panel production facility investment. Our project designed to validate the utilization rate of the work centers with single or multiple tools in process. The teamĀ built a mathematical queuing model that based on the utilization, inter-arrival time variability, and service time variability. We plotted the relationship between utilization and cycle time performance x-intrinsic values. The project result is when the facility performs 2x-intrinsic cycle time, the utilization rate is 74%. Additionally, the mathematical model allows the user to test different scenario in terms of the downtime percentage of the tools. That helps HP to prediction the cycle time performance if a known level of failure is going to happen.
