Thank you for serving as a judge at the 2020 Engineering Virtual Showcase!

June 5, 2020

10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (PDT)

The first time you access the showcase site, please go to:  https://expo.engr.oregonstate.edu/virtualshowcase/event so that we can check you in.

After first entry, you can bypass the check-in page by going to: https://expo.engr.oregonstate.edu/virtualshowcase/hub

The main event page (hub) contains a menu of button links to the six different areas of the showcase (CBEE, CCE, EECS, MIME, NSE, Grad Projects). Clicking on any of these links will show you all of the projects in the showcase for that unit. You can click into any project page to see that team's materials. To chat live with the team, click on the team's live chat link.

When entering a chat room, you will be prompted to type in your name. Write JUDGE: before your name so that the students know you are a judge.

While you are absolutely free to peruse the showcase at your leisure from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and to vote for any projects you wish, please be sure to visit the chat rooms of at least the projects assigned to you below. This is to ensure that each team gets to chat with at least one judge. PLEASE NOTE: These assignments have been randomized, they are not based on your engineering expertise. Because the judging criteria is focused on how well the students communicate their project to a general audience, you do not need to have expertise in the team's engineering field in order to judge them. You also do not need to visit a team's chat room in order to give them your vote.

Different teams have different types of materials on their page. Some have videos. Others have digital posters or website links, etc.

Judging Criteria:

  • Effectiveness of project communication materials (video, website, poster, etc.)
  • Clarity of project concept
  • Applicability of project concept to real world

UNDERGRADUATE JUDGES: By 11:40 a.m., use this form to vote for your top 5 favorite undergrad projects, based on the judging criteria (you will need to know Project IDs). Undergrad judging form.
